Rosacea is a common skin condition and occurs in men and women of all ages. Rosacea causes facial redness, flushing, thread veins and spots. The spots and inflammation can be controlled with medication. The redness, veins and flushing can be controlled with IPL or laser treatment at Dr. Mune Gowda’s Laser Centers of Troy and Novi. Rosacea is not something that can be ignored or which will go away by itself.
Why Treat Rosacea?
Rosacea can cause prominent blood vessels, open pores and skin eruptions similar to acne. It often starts between the ages of 30 to 50 and can cause considerable distress. The symptoms of rosacea will only become increasingly more severe. Although it cannot be cured, Rosacea can be controlled and the marks left behind from flare ups can be permanently removed.
As the symptoms vary depending on the patient, the laser treatment is specific to each individual: we treat the redness and broken veins of Rosacea with Intense Pulse Light or Pulse Dye Lasers.
We have been successfully treating Rosacea for over two decades. We know how disheartened you can get when you hope for the best and get let down. We know how hard it becomes to even hope that this time a rosacea treatment will work for you. We don’t want you to wonder if IPL or laser therapy will work for you. We want you to know it will.
This review is long over due. I have a strongly emotional, very high opinion of Dr. Gowda and his staff. If I had gone to him ten years earlier, I would have such better skin now. After trying lotions and potions and nothing working I finally decided to pay Dr. Gowda a visit to see if he can treat my rosacea with lasers. My esthetician/medical-consultant explained to me the differences between the types of laser treatments available and why she was recommending IPL. Though hesitant, I gave it shot. I am so glad I did because all the veins and red patches are finally completely gone and under control. I feel much prettier and confident. Thank you Dr. Gowda for helping to restore my self esteem.YELP
How IPL Treats Rosacea
IPL stands for intense pulsed light. The laser machine contains a flash lamp, this is an extremely bright light source. IPL is also used to treat red birth marks, pigmented lesions and unwanted hair. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) yields a long term solution to red veins skin patchiness associated with rosacea (facial thread veins & spider veins) in just a few fast and easy treatments. Unlike some other treatments, there is “no downtime” in as much as you can have a treatment and then return to work immediately afterwards.
It is demonstrated that IPL has two actions that help in Rosacea. Firstly, red thread veins absorb the light energy, this makes them hot. This damage encourages the body to reabsorb them, improving appearance. Secondly, the light energy warms the collagen fibres in the skin, this stimulates new collagen and collagen remodeling, this improves the support of the small blood vessels which helps to delay the development of more thread veins.
